Alabama Gulf Coast, National Wildlife Refuge
Take a break from the bustling beach and enjoy 3 hours of peaceful and tranquil paddling in the secluded inlets of the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge (BSNWR). Just minutes from bustling Gulf Shores, the BSNWR Kayak Tour immerses you in a coastal wilderness! We will visit a portion of the park that no driving tourist can reach as it is accessible only by kayak (or helicopter not included :->). Join us in exploring this extraordinary haven for migratory birds, nesting Loggerhead and Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles, and the endangered Alabama Beach Mouse. Additionally, the waterways we'll be paddling to reach the refuge are prime dolphin habitat so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for dorsal fins! Named as one of the 10 natural wonders of Alabama, the refuge serves the additional benefit of comprising one of the largest undeveloped parcels of land on the Alabama coast its dunes are a reminder of the Gulf Coast, as it once existed.
Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge is a 7,157-acre National Wildlife Refuge located in five separate units in Baldwin and Mobile Counties, United States, directly west of Gulf Shores, Alabama on the Fort Morgan Peninsula.
